The Time Is Now: Answering the Call of Your Desire

You didn’t imagine it.
That nudge you’ve been feeling — the pull toward something bigger — it’s real.

And it’s not meant for “someday.”

In a recent conversation with my friend Sadhvi, a spiritual teacher who has spent nearly 30 years on the banks of the Ganga River in India, we discussed what it means to listen to that inner knowing.

“If the universe wanted you to do it three years from now, you’d be given the calling three years from now. The caterpillar doesn’t get a signal for later — it gets a signal for now. To climb now. To weave now. To burst out now.”

Your calling works the same way.
It’s not a suggestion for later.
It’s an invitation for today.

This 30-second message (filmed during my conversation with Sadhvi) will remind you that your calling isn’t for “someday.” It’s for now.

Desire: Your First Compass

If you’ve been given a calling — to create, to lead, to serve — it begins with desire.

Desire is the most sacred kind of fuel. It’s the quiet (or sometimes loud!) knowing inside you that says:
“This is what I’m meant for.”

But here’s the thing: most of us weren’t taught to listen to that voice.
We weren’t taught to check in with our desires on a regular basis.
We were taught to override them. To silence them. To make do.

In Chapter 1 of Women Rocking Business, we explore the practice of desire integration: connecting to your deepest wants and visions for your life and business — and allowing them to guide your next chapter.

Whether you’re just starting your business or ready to step into a higher level of impact, your desires are the compass that will guide you.

An Exercise to Integrate Your Desire

Grab your journal and carve out some quiet space.

On a fresh page, answer these questions:

  1. What in your life is holding you back from fully living your desire?
Be honest. Is it fear? Old patterns? A packed schedule?
  2. What needs to change or shift to make space for your desire?
This could be boundaries, letting go of something, or asking for help.
  3. What isn’t working in your current path?
What feels misaligned, stuck, or outdated in your career or business?
  4. What do you truly want?
Don’t edit yourself. Dream big. Be brave.

Give yourself at least one full page (or more) for each question.

And then — do it again next week, and the week after that. Check in with your desires often. Over time, this practice will become a regular conversation with your soul.

Why This Matters Now

When you consistently connect with your desire, you’re doing more than dreaming.

You’re building the muscle to follow your calling when it shows up. You’re creating space in your life — and in your business — for what truly lights you up.

This is what Sadhvi and I talked about in our interview:
You don’t get the call “just because.” You get it because you’re ready.

And that readiness isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about having the courage to listen — and to take one step forward.

Your Next Step

If you’ve been feeling a calling:

Don’t wait.
Don’t overthink.
Don’t talk yourself out of it.

Start here:
Listen to your desire. Write it down. Make space for it.

Because your clients? Your community? The world?

They’re not waiting for someone like you.
They’re waiting for you.
