Transparent Marketing + Healing from a Past Life

I’ll never forget the night it happened.

Last year, right after one of the most successful events I’d ever led—our clients had breakthroughs, sales were soaring, my team was celebrating. You’d think I’d be on cloud nine. Instead, at 2 a.m., I woke to a loud crash outside my bedroom window that nearly broke the glass.

In the same instant, the power went out.

I was home alone, in the dark – crazy crashes happening all around me.

I’m ashamed to say – but my mind went straight to: They’re coming for me. Someone wants to stop my work with women.

It sounds dramatic, but in that moment, it felt completely real. It was as if the part of me that remembers a past life—being burned at the stake for speaking my truth—was instantly activated.

Back to the loud scary dark night… before I knew it, I was in my bathrobe and tennis shoes, my puppy under one arm, a big can of wasp spray in the other, ready to defend my home and my mission. My heart was pounding.

I crept outside… and found nothing more sinister than a ladder blown over in the wind & continuing to rattle against my shed. No danger. Just stillness. Just stars.

And then, clarity hit: most of the things we fear in life and business are like that fallen ladder—loud, startling, but not actually a threat.

I remembered a quote…

There’s no wolf at the door… In fact, there’s no wolf… and there’s no door.

I know, deep right? Hehe

In all seriousness, that night became a turning point for me. Here’s what it taught me about growing a business (and a life) you love, without letting fear run the show:

1. The breakdown always precedes a break-THROUGH. When the crash happens—whether it’s a bad review, a slow sales week, or a piece of world news—pause. Ask: Is there an actual threat here, or is my nervous system writing a story?
2. Balance your masculine and feminine energy. The feminine is the river of creativity, flow, and intuition. The masculine is the riverbank—structure, discipline, and follow-through. You need both to grow something sustainable.
3. Lead with radical honesty. In an age of AI and noise, the leaders who win are the ones who speak truth. Your people can feel if you’re being real. They can also feel when you’re not.

When I started my business—coming from a small-town teaching job—I had zero guarantees. I was skeptical of the online space. But I made a decision: I would grow my business without losing my integrity. I would tell the truth, even if my voice shook.

And sis, you can do the same.

Fear will show up—it always does when we’re stepping into our next level.

But remember: most of the time, the “wolf” is just a ladder in the wind. Keep walking toward your vision anyway.

You don’t need to be “ready.” You just need to be willing.
