I just got a chance to interview my beloved mentor and colleague, Reverend Michael Beckwith, on the topic of women entrepreneurs who are on a big mission to change the world through our businesses.

I’m so excited to get you some of the morsels of inspiration and mindset shifts that I just received. So for those of you who on one hand, see your business is your spiritual path, your sort of path to impact and even enlightenment. And on another hand, you can see that your relationship with your business can lead to a level of burnout and exhaustion. I’m so thrilled to share what I got out of this interview. So the truth here is that the opportunity of growing a business that is an extension of your heart and your soul. It’s an opportunity to blur the lines between personal and career to step into the place where you’re a leader who has one life. This concept of work-life balance can kind of go away because you have one life and there is a divine energy. There’s a bigger universal energy that’s flowing through you. That business is happening through you, not from you, and Reverend Michael really has the answer to how to tap into that unlimited well of creativity, productivity, efficiency.

So you can enjoy this process of finding your clients, making a difference, making an incredible impact and making incredible income. Because the truth is that your business is your greatest opportunity for expansion and enlightenment. And, you know, it was through the biggest personal transformation in my life that I was able to deepen into a commitment to my business that has been, I think my own personal greatest gift. I mean, for any of you who have had your personal life crumbling like major disillusionment of relationship, friendships, health, some kind of devastation in your personal life and in that sort of structure decomposing in that foundation crumbling, the new life that’s being birthed from decomposition is in the form of your business.

If you are aware that that is happening or has been some level of your path, I’m here to tell you, there is no accident that the idea for this business has found you at this time. So what it looked like for me is I was going through a divorce, married to an incredible man of 10 years, who was my best friend, and in the process of all of that, our marriage started to truly sort of fall apart before my own eyes. I could no longer go out and tell women that they could have their lives and their careers, the way they want as a public speaker, as an author, I could no longer go out and spread that gospel and come home to a marriage, to a man whose values were now changing to the degree that we were really standing on different islands.

We didn’t understand each other anymore. I remember sitting on the couch, looking out the window in Santa Cruz, California tears in my eyes, just asking myself like how had it come to this? You know, my vows were supposed to be forever. And in that moment, I was so angry at the masculine. I was angry at the very thing I had invested so much of my energy into, you know, my husband had been my rock and I found Reverend Michael Beckwith’s teachings. And Michael Beckwith was a real shining light for me during my divorce, during the hardest moment of my life. Because through him, I could tap into a version of the masculine that I could trust.

Again, a version of the divine that I could trust again. So rather than feeling like the rug of my life had gotten pulled out from underneath me, I began to see that there was a bigger transformation happening through me and that as I surrendered to that, which was coming through, that which was new in me, I was simply going to have to grieve and let go of the old version of me. And so for those of you that don’t know Reverend Michael Beckwith, he has an incredible congregation in Beverly Hills, California. He’s reaching tens of thousands of incredible light workers, authors, leaders, and seekers all over the world. He’s a many times bestselling author and you’ve got to check them out.

We want to applaud the women for, for starting. And it’s not about failure. It’s about starting and learning the lessons, you know, because the feminine energy has been oppressed for so long that they’re starting behind. And so you don’t want to look at the fact that individuals have failed. You want to look at the fact that individuals are moving forward and, and in moving forward, they’re learning lessons about the dynamic of starting a business. Now, the dynamic of starting abusiness carries with what they want to know is it carries at least four bottom lines under the masculine paradigm. The only bottom line was profit. You know, almost at any means necessary.

Even if the product was not good, low quality, it was about making a profit. Now the feminine energy carries the vibration of COMMUNITY and nurturing, and everybody is included. So the bottom lines that are now beginning, or yes, profit, you have to have profit to sustain yourself, but it has to have purpose. And that purpose has to be something that is more divine, something that’s carrying the qualities of why we’re here on the planet. So there’s profit and purpose, and there’s people. You know, this has to be good for people, and it has to be good for the planet. So under the, the, the, the feminine paradigm, you’re going to have four bottom lines: profit, person, people and planet.

Now, if they maintain that, then they’ll be supported by the emerging paradigm. So don’t give up. We need the feminine energy to rise because the feminine energy that’s going to hold the chalice for the next level of our unfoldment. Masculine energy carried us so far, but it is destroying the rainforest. It’s destroying the planet, the oceans, the rivers, strip mining values of consumerism, the values of materialism. But the feminine vibration is carrying something different. So I applaud the starting businesses at a much more rapid pace.

Do not give up. Don’t give up. Don’t give up, please. Burnout is when we’re living with anxiousness and anxiety about the future. And so it, so we have to really, when we, when we see our vision, we have to own, the frequency of that vision is happening now. It’s a part of spiritual practice. So the vision is pulling us rather than us pushing for some kind of future. If we end up pushing for some kind of future, we burn ourselves out. But if we’re pulled by the vision and it starts to speak to us and we embrace it, and then now, and as of this moment and it becomes more real to us than anything else, it’ll feed us.

You know, I’ve been able to, to be on the frontline of a COMMUNITY for now 33 years, because every single day is new. And I don’t, I don’t even think about 33 years. And really I’m just reminded of it. It’s new. It’s now. And so I go into the day new, now, new, now, new, now. And then I find out, as I look back, “Oh my God, we’ve done all those things.” So it’s not pushing something to happen. So we go from the masculine energy is making something happen. The feminine energy is making something welcome to the different frequency, love that distinction. So and so, and making something welcome. We’re pulled. So we don’t want Women or anyone to go through burnout.

We want everyone to make something welcome, and then be pulled by the articulation of that, which we are making welcome. It’s necessary. It’s day by day. You actually recontextualize in every single day. Now, new, now, new, now, new. And then the timeless takes over and it activates your immune system, sends tonic chemicals through the body temple, and slows down the aging process. When you’re involved in and making something welcome, rather than making something happen, you you’re able to sustain over a long period of time

I feel that and feel that that’s been my experience. Thank you so much to my JOIN. Isn’t he amazing? So for many of us, our businesses become like a new way of life. They become not just a new chapter, but sometimes an entirely new BOOK, right? In the sort of span of our lives. We’re learning to be someone different. We’re learning to run energy differently. We’re learning to have a new lifestyle where we, you know, allow our creativity to channel through us in a much bigger way. And if we get caught up in the stories or the details we can get so lost into, you know, why we’re doing this in the first place. There’s something bigger happening here, right?

Pain pushes until vision pulls. And so one of the things that Reverend Michael talks about that’s really made a difference for me too is that we’ve got to be willing to let the self, let the ego, like seriously dissolve. Because transformation becomes the way of our life and ofof our being. We are transforming. And we are standing for transformation through our services, through our business, through our programs, our products. Right? That we’re standing for something. And so we’re literally teaching that, which we most need to learn.

Right? If we say, “I’m going to go out and I’m going to transform people’s lives through my training programs, through my restaurant, through the food I’m creating.” We’re literally saying I’m here to transform lives through my business. Guess what we are opening ourselves up to, right? Like we have to be willing to walk through and handle our own transformation, more gracefully if that’s what we are going to be providing for other people. And in general, the more driven you are to create this business and this transformation, the more gentle you’ve got to be with yourself. Because let’s be honest, you’re learning so many new muscles, so many new skills all at once, right?

For many of you, you’re learning to grow your business, you’re learning to hone your craft, you’re learning marketing skills, you’re learning to get online. You’re learning how digital marketing works and you’re learning to maybe manage an assistant or a team. There’s so much that it has to be considered here. So we cannot go on being an old version of ourselves, attempting to create something that we’ve never created before. So this is what we get to do, right? As thought leaders to allow the universe to move through us. And when we have a chance to really hitch ourselves to this bigger energy, that’s moving through us, we become a channel, right? We can open ourselves up. We can get out of our own way and let the universe do its work through our businesses. When we stop making it about us and our agendas, our vision can actually get bigger. And what I’ve found is when I get myself out of my own way, and I just focus on the transformation I’m here to provide, the universe, sends me opportunities, and it sends me money, and doors opening faster than I ever could have imagined.

My adrenals were going to be, you know, toasted. And I was going to do myself harm – simply because of my own drive. And what I would say is that when I have surrendered to the energy that wants to move through me, rested when I need to rest, but allowed myself to go fast.

When I want to go fast, I actually have spent more energy trying to slow myself down in the past. And when I can get out of my own way and practice this concept like David White says of wholeheartedness. And when I realized that wholeheartedness, when I’m doing my life with my heart open and my commitment to that, which I really want to create in this one precious life. That actually boosts my immune system. This actually gives me energy. There’s a cyclical energy. That’s flowing through me that I can choose to tap into when I’m not in the story of, “Oh I’m so tired, I don’t want to.
