S3E8: The Biggest Speakathon of My Career
Welcome to Women Rocking Business, where we are here to help you rock yourself, rock your life, and rock the world as a woman entrepreneur, because the world needs you and the time is now. I’m Sage Lavine, CEO, trainer, unretired camp counselor, and best-selling author of the Hay House book Women Rocking Business. We’ve had the honor of serving over a hundred thousand women entrepreneurs around the globe just like you, who are here to do more, be more, and have more by giving your gift to the planet. So let’s dive in.
Hello rockstars! I am experiencing some of the biggest success of my career…not being measured in dollars in the bank account or how many clients I have, but being measured in my client’s results.

If you also are in the business of building your business so that your clients can have real and tangible results, keep listening. Our Speakathon that we just launched has over 350 women actually actively hosting their events. As we speak, this week, it’s happening now, they’re attending each other’s events as wing women. They’re following a framework that we’ve laid out and they are having massive success. What I’m finding is several things.
Number one, it’s not about avoiding the work of our businesses. It’s about plugging in. It’s about creating something that we feel so proud of.

If you want to create something that you feel so proud of, I’m just going to share a few thoughts. So, number one, I was writing this down in my journal. Stop trying to avoid the work. It’s not about trying to hide from the work. Feel like it’s a slog. Catch yourself when you’re in that limited thinking and in those stories, instead of trying to avoid the work, I’m going to invite you to start finding the place where it stops, feeling like work, where it’s fun. As soon as I got the idea for the Speakathon, I thought, “Oh my gosh, what if we could not only challenge our clients to go host events? What if we actually challenged them to host events and attend each other’s events and having attending each other’s events being part of the game?

One of my good friends, Susan Garrett, says “Winning is about turning your goals into a game that you want to play successful.”
People turn our goals into a game that we want to play. And this has been such a fun game for my team and I, the results are through the roof. We have a client named Glory St. Germain. She just hosted a virtual event using these strategies. She enrolled at four new high paying clients. She made $8,000 right out the gate. One of our clients, Rachel Cooley, is hosting her How to Become Calm and Courageous with the Angels Masterclass.

She’s incredible at channeling wisdom. She has 35 folks signed up for her next virtual event. Robyn Smith. One of our clients is in the middle of her Rock Your Relationship launch right now, she has nearly 300 amazing humans showing up to learn from her and this explosion of action and activity that’s happening in our community is in large part because the community is supporting each other. So my question to you is… how can you build feedback into your business? How can you build collaboration into your business? How can you make it so that your clients have these opportunities to go take action and then support each other?
Because a rising tide really does lift all boats.

When you feel that upwelling, when you feel that expansion of results of action of people changing their lives, it’s contagious. Wouldn’t you agree that seeing people changing their lives is contagious and it makes us want to get even better at what we do. So if you’ve been over there feeling like it’s a slog in any way, shape or form, I’m going to invite you also to stop chasing the money.

Stop focusing so much on the money. “I need money. I need clients.” And instead start focusing on selling as a way to transform lives, selling as a way to change people’s lives, selling as a way to make a big difference for people. Because when you focus on who’s the next person I can help… just who’s the next person I can help. I think there’s just so much destruction going on online. There is so much distraction going on online. “I could download this PDF. I can download these 50 sample posts. I can download this how to guide. I can pay $11 here. I can pay $17 there.”

If you have respect for what it means to actually nurture relationships, to get to know people online, to build real relationships with your potential clients, to hop on camera with them, ask them questions, understand what they’re going through, understand their lives. If that’s what you’re about, there’s no way you’re going to fail. There’s no possible way to fail.
If you’re willing to keep getting visible and keep getting your message out there and focus on selling as a way to transform lives. That doesn’t mean that you’re just pushing the sale. It means that you’re making real relationships with potential clients that you care about, whether they hire you now, whether they hire you later, you’re standing for a transformation. And you know, you’re willing to get better at the things you do each time you do them, you know, rather than throwing out the strategy that you’re currently working on, or like “this masterclass thing, isn’t working this podcasting isn’t working.” Rather than like reaching for a different strategy.
Sage Lavine
00:07:06
What if you were to get better at the strategy you’ve already chosen? Choose a mentor, choose a community where that accountability structure, that community and that mentor and those coaches can help you match your level of business. The strategy that you’re using. Because if you’re trying to apply the wrong strategy at the wrong time in your business, you might be watching other people do it great, but they might have bigger teams than you do. They might have a different niche than you do. We want to make sure we really match the strategy that you’re using to the level of business and to your goals. Like what is the vision for your business? And one of the things I’m most proud of is not that the women in our programs are getting extraordinary results…
Sage Lavine
00:07:51
Like that’s for sure what I’m most proud of, but I’m also so proud that my team and I keep getting better at launching what we’re launching. And we care so much about our clients. We’re dedicated and committed to making it better every time. And when I get nervous or when I’m scared, my body’s breaking down, or when I have the gremlins come in of like, there’s no way you can sustain this. I just remember some of what the spiritual teachers say about courage. I just actually wrote this down in my journal, but that courage is not the absence of fear… that the coward actually listens to their fears and becomes controlled by them.
Sage Lavine
00:08:34
I would jot this one down. I think this one’s so good. The coward listens to her fears and becomes controlled by them. But the courageous one, that’s you, the courageous one pushes through or meanders through her fears. But the thing that makes her courageous is that she refuses to be ruled by dread.
Take a breath into that one. She refuses to be ruled by dread. That’s some good stuff, yeah? When we keep our feet on the ground and reach for our dreams, don’t forget the feet on the ground part because that’s what keeps us humble.
Sage Lavine
00:09:16
That’s what keeps us focusing on what really matters, which is not a transaction, but a transformation. You focus on exploding your heart toward the people who, you know, their lives are meant to be touched by you. You explode your heart toward them. The money’s going to fight. I promise. So you get out there and you keep rocking it. We can rock sales and rock the world together. Mwah!
