Let’s begin by defining “recession” so we can set some economic context:

Recession: an economic decline that spans over a minimum of two consecutive quarters. 

Right now, interest rates and inflation are on the rise…

…and consumer confidence is going down.

When there’s uncertainty and negative energy in the economy, we feel it as heart-centered entrepreneurs. 

So if you’re feeling any unease about a recessive market, here are a few things to keep in mind.

#1. You and your business are part of the solution.

It’s no accident you have a life-changing gift to share with the world right now, during this state of the world and economic climate. You can help people transform fear, overwhelm, and grief in a time when they need it the most.

There’s spiritual order.

There’s something bigger happening on the planet and you’re a part of it. 

You’re being called forth to make an impact in a world where people are facing big challenges.

During this “economic winter,” take a moment for self-reflection and pruning in your business. Remember, we prune trees in the winter because it causes them to root down deeper. Use this as an opportunity to check in and strengthen your energy.

#2. Remember personal development is the 2nd fastest growing industry.

That’s right! Our industry may be small, but it’s the 2nd fastest growing (only surpassed by technology.) People are searching for the exact gifts that you have to give. 

More than ever, people are waking up.
More than ever, people are looking for the tools we have.
More than ever, people are ready to transform.

Keep in mind many businesses actually thrive during times of recession, and you’re bringing heart-based work to the planet when people need it the most. 

This is more reason to go all in on yourself, your biz, and your gift.

#3. Create & seek a sense of belonging.

People are reporting feeling isolated and lacking a sense of belonging. That’s why it’s so important to find a community where you feel a sense of belonging and a deeper sense of resonance. (Like our Women Rocking Business Sisterhood private Facebook group) 

…and create the same in return. Focus on building a business that’s rooted in community and connection. Remember, beauty, connection = currency.
