What’s Your Superpower Shadow?

If you’ve taken my Speaker Superpower Quiz, you know that you have a speaker superpower within you.

But did you know that your superpower has a shadow?

In today’s quick training, I’m diving into WHY you have a superpower shadow and HOW to leverage it in your business.

^^^Watch “What’s Your Superpower Shadow?” Now^^^

Your superpower shadow is the inverse of your superpower.

It’s the pain, the trauma, or the journey behind why you have this incredible gift to share with the world.

I’ll use mine as an example.

I was bullied and awkward as a kid. I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere. I became deeply aware of what it felt like to be excluded and betrayed. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was my superpower shadow – the origin of the vision that I hold today.

So I set out to create a space where women could feel a sense of community, belonging, and sisterhood… and I created a global training community of over 400,000 women entrepreneurs.

Here’s your work to do this week, sister.

Claim your superpower AND your shadow. Know that you can’t fully own your superpower until you realize that it was carved in the flames of challenge and hard times.

(Feel free to tell me in the comments what you think is your superpower AND shadow!)

Challenge those old triggers that tell you…

“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll end up alone.”
“I will fail.”
“If I become successful, people will leave me.”
“I can’t do this.”’

Instead, get to the front side of your shadow.
Use your whole heart as you navigate your journey in business.
Take extra time this week to make sure your needs are met.
Move your body.
Do things that make you feel on purpose. (If you’re a woman entrepreneur, this means investing in your business!)

If you’re curious about what superpower has blossomed from your shadow, I invite you to take my Speaker Superpower Quiz for a deep-dive into some self reflection.

It’s no accident you have this gift to give during this important moment in time.
Your clients are waiting for you.
They’re not just waiting for someone like you.
They’re actually waiting for YOU!

You got this, beauty!

Let’s do this thing…together.

Love,
Sage

Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift. – Mary Oliver

You asked for tips on dealing with the our shadow. Here’s mine:
After the Ugh!, it’s you!, I catch a pause in whatever’s going on, it can just be a moment, to breathe and recognize exactly “who” I’m dealing with…Most of us have more than one shadow. I know I do! Once I’ve got the “who”, I greet it and acknowledge its presence. We all love to be recognized and our shadow is no different. Interestingly, it often calms down a bit, just with acknowledgement. It knows I’m going to come and sit with it ASAP. Which I do. I have to keep reminding myself that it showed up to me FOR ME. It came to serve a purpose. And even though it works through discomfort, I don’t have to respond in like. I do my best – and this is often quite testing – to ask it, “Why are you here?” “What am I to learn from you right now?” The rest is breathing, meditating, journaling, walking in the woods…you get the picture! Greeting and embracing has always served my higher knowing. I hope this is useful.
And BTW, most anything is more expedient than challenging! Challenge fires the shadow up! You can hear the rally cry “FIGHT!”
